Adisham 2 Courtenay Res 3
2 defeats on the trot, can't remember the last time that happened but it is certainly not as long ago as
the last time a goal was scored by one Christopher James!!!!
Unfortunately I wasn't there to witness this phenomenon, but am reliably informed by Chris himself that
it was a screamer from outside the box into the corner of the goal. Others describe it as 'spooning in off his shin'!!!
This miracle should not distract us from the main point of the game, lack of commitment. The fact that Chris
was on the pitch tells you how desperate we were for players. We even had to play some of the game with ten men as the only
female on the pitch had to come off with blisters.
The fact we have guaranteed 2nd place and promotion to the 2nd division should not mean that we stop giving
our full support and commitment to the football club. The lack of numbers on Sunday was extremely disappointing.
That aside, the team that we put out tried their hardest to overcome a team fighting to stay in division
3. Unfortunatley they couldn't quite manage it. Marc Fisher got our other goal from the penalty spot.
One game left now and that is this coming Sunday 13th April at home to New Inn. Lets hope we can restore
some pride to the end of our season.
Team: Anthony Jackson, Tim Binks, Sam Fisher, Terry Blackman, Chris James, Terry Jefferies, Danny Bushell,
Marc Fisher, Sam Mcdonald, Garry Ripley, Matthew Deeble.
